I must be crazy!

Well, most of you probably already know, but my schedule this semester is pretty sweet…and pretty terrifying. I’m taking 18 hours in class, on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. I have class from 8:00 am till 8:15 pm both days, with a break on thursday in the middle. On top of that, I’m finishing 9 hours of independent study gen eds. So basically, I’m a nut. If I can pull it off, in May I will have graduated with 134 hours and two separate degrees in three years. That’s right, I graduated high school two and a half years ago, and I graduate in May, Lord willing.

I’m sorry if I sound like I’m bragging. I’m really not. You don’t have to be terribly smart to do what I’m doing. In fact, I think it helps to be a little stupid (cause who would do this otherwise?). Now don’t think that I haven’t had fun all this time, cause it’s been a blast!

Freshman year, I shared a room with an interesting fellow - he is from Peru, and for some reason has an olfactory fetish. His cologne cocktails before going out were daring, bold, and almost suffocating. But I love the guy. I wish him best of luck in all he does!

That same semester, two amazing things happened. I met my future best friend in the world, Seth, and I started dating my other best friend, Heather. I don’t know how it all happened, but to find two people you can completely click with - be honest, goofy, serious, and encouragin, to name just a few of the benefits - and be fortunate enough to watch them become permanent features of your life - it’s incredible. I am so blessed.

Seth and I proceeded to start watching Friends on DVD, eventually making it through nine of the ten seasons. It is not the world’s most incredible show, but sharing it with a friend and starting all sorts of ritual traditions made it a blast. We were able to jam together, watch movies, and eat free Chipotle on Halloween, in spite of my talking on the phone to Heather several hours a day, at least at times. Yeah, Freshman and Sophomore years, I don’t think I actually did that much work. Or if I did, I never really noticed in the midst of all the fun.

Middle of Sophomore year, I got a vision for the two degrees in three years thing, and somehow made it work, with the help of fifty incredible advisors, academic and personal.

And now, here I am, truly the luckiest man alive. The luckiest crazy man alive. I’m ready to be done with school, but I know I’m gonna miss this part of my life when it’s gone.
